School Districts can implement blogging to allow teachers to collaborate with one another. Blogging would allow teachers to discuss subject matter and lessons with one another. Teachers could discuss lessons and approaches that worked in their classrooms as well as issues that they have faced. They can view and comment on each other’s blogs. In this way teachers will grasp a better understanding of the technologies that their students use but also through collaboration they will find more effective ways of teaching.
Allowing teachers to use Wikis provides them with opportunities to collaborate on a shared goal as well as gaining new knowledge on 21st Century Skills. At the same time, teachers will learn new ways to use the tool within their own lessons. Schools can create Wikis that allow teachers from different subjects to find common threads and produce material that combines material from a variety of subjects. This collaboration will strengthen teachers technological literacy.

ReplyDeleteI really like the idea of blogging too. You described it well and brought up some really good points. Maybe if teachers have problems or would like lesson ideas then anyone from the community can help and comment on the issue. Because of the way some schools are structured it isn't easy for the lower grades to communicate with the upper grades. Thus, blogging would spread the school community from your grade level to the rest. Nice Post : )
