The main goals of a WebQuest are to engage students with an interesting activity, get students thinking and creating new knowledge and provide quality information. WebQuests allow students to access prior knowledge but also allows students to research different resources to acquire new knowledge. Students are not given answers but rather are given questions that they must use their inquiry skills to find the answers to and also form their own conclusions too. Big Idea Questions guide students in their WebQuest. It gives students a goal. When setting up a WebQuest it is important that the resourse is relevant and useful. If the resourses used are not relevant then students may not be as engaged but also there would be no use in the resourse if it is irrelevant. Students need to know that the tools they are using are valuable.
