1. A Webquest is inquiry-oriented and uses the internet as a resource. They are guided by a theme. Students can take on the role of different characters to make the lesson interested and engaging. Students can be explorers, scientists or any other interesting character and use the internet to discover new information about the given topic. Like a Webquest, Web Inquiries use the internet as a resource. However, in a Web Inquiry students review raw data. They explore the data and make predictions based on that data.
2. Only seeing the “Hook” allows students to determine their own strategy to acquire new information. Giving less information to students gives them the opportunity to enhance the information.
3. Web Inquiry allows students explore open-ended questions and the information provided to students is unfiltered. Students are made to critically think about the data and find their own solutions to the questions given.
4. Teachers must ask questions and help guide students through the activity. By being there for the students, teachers are a resource for the students use when testing their conclusions.
5. Manipulating raw data gives students the chance to manipulate and interpret data to create meaning and find new solutions to questions. It gives students the opportunity to use their critical thinking skills.
